Help linking my daughters new apple device to my iPhone

It appears this is a common issue and I’m hoping it can be revolved. I spoke to apple support on the phone for over an hour yesterday and the call taker could not seem to figure it out.

I recently purchased a new iPad for my 5yo daughter. We had set up her own Apple ID and family sharing on her old iPad.

When setting up her new iPad, we ensured to restore from the backup of the old iPad. She is still signed into her own Apple ID and family sharing is still working. The only problem is that her new iPad is not showing up as a listed device on my Apple ID.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Should I remove her from my family sharing and put her back in? Or does she need a new Apple ID? I don’t want her to lose her games progress, purchases and messages.

I hope someone can help.

They have had me log in and out of her Apple ID and in and out of iCloud. They have asked me to restore her iPad and set it up all again. They asked me to log into my Apple ID and then log into hers and none of that worked.

they advised that the only way for it to be a linked device is to have it logged in using my Apple ID (parent) not hers. I’m not happy with this response as it works fine on my sons iPad and our other apple devices. They said it may be a setting on her new iPad but that cannot be the case as it was set up from brand new twice and no settings were changed.
