Setting up an ipad

I’ve a new iPad, my old one had a cracked screen but otherwise working perfectly.  I’ve reset the old one to factory reset. I know I can automatically upload all the information from my new iPad/iPhone to the one I’ve reset. That’s pretty easy.

However, I don’t really want or need all the apps/programs I have on my main iPad/iPhone.  Can  I wipe some of them, like shopping apps, language apps and programs like a free photo editing program that I only use occasionally and at the same time keep them on the other machines. In essence I just want to keep the reset iPad as clutter free as possible. Is that doable and how?

Thanks for any advice you can offer

Once you have restored the backup to the old device, the deletion of apps on that devices is separate from the new one. You can have two devices with the same Apple ID have different content, so long as it is not content that is synced across iCloud, such as Contacts, Photos, and the like.
