Check authenticity of Homepod

I got a homepod from a e-commerce site. I found the box seal is opened. There is no serial number on the bottom. The Homepod got registered to my iPhone when it was brought nearer. It did not even scan the passcode on the top the HomePod. Is it a real?

How can I check my Homepod is authentic Apple product?

How can I check my Homepod is working properly. That means all the speakers are working fine. Microphone is working fine.

There is no Code to scan during set up. It should be in the home app now and in there you can look at the serial number

  • In the Home App long press on the HomePod icon, scroll down to the gear icon , tap that then scroll all the way to the bottom
  • You should also update the software to 14.6 now as well

  • Or Check iCloud settings
  1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [Your name].2
  2. Scroll down and tap HomePod to see the serial number.

To test if it’s working press the top to ask Siri a question. if you have Apple Music or iTunes Match ask it to play music, or a playlist

In the HomePod settings you can set your preferences, use hey Siri etc with hey Siri enabled you can ask it a question from a distance to check the mic hears you.

Customize and manage settings for HomePod.
