apple giving duplicate IP warning

I have a Late 2013 15" MBP. Running Big Sur. I work for a small business and have total control of the network. I use a Thunderbolt Display with a wired network connection for the business stuff, but I leave wifi turned on for services like unlocking with my Apple Watch. I have an IP reservation in our DHCP server setup for the wifi MAC address so it always gets the same IP that is out of the range of our standard DHCP scope which assigns the IP to the wired connection through the display. This also means that all of our devices will never get that IP address. Every day when I first get to work I get a duplicate IP error on the wifi connection. Any idea why this happens and how I can stop it?

No other device is assigned the same IP. There are devices that need to remain static, like Servers and Printers. The wifi connection on a Mac is used for more than just network connectivity and I use the wired connection for direct access to the servers, switches, printers...etc. This is a specific issue in light of the fact that the only device that should ever have this IP address is the Wireless Network Adapter on the MacBook Pro.
