Notifications when Locked

Hello, no matter what setting I try, text message notification sounds come through.

I want all his notifications to stop when the iPad is locked.

The iPad sits on the counter, locked, going ding, ding, ding. I have set no notifications when locked, no change, do not disturb all, no change, do not disturb on a schedule, no change.

What am I missing. We did a software update, no change.

This is my son's iPad, set up with Screen Time, but I am not sure what that would matter.
