iPad generated recovery key of 28 digits doesn't work on macbook, allowing only 24 digits

As the title mentions. A recovery key was generated on iPad [name>Password & Security>Recovery Key], giving back 28 digits key, but when trying to log in to a MacBook, the expected recovery key only allows for 24 digits key. Is it a different key?
