How can I update if it says that I do not have enough storage? What Can I delete to create more storage?

Copy files you do not need on a daily basis to an external hard drive.

Having confirmed that they have copied over successfully then you can delete them from the mac.

Movies, Images and Music tend to take up the most room.

Only delete files from your User account do not delete items from any System or Library folders.
