My iPad can't upload videos

I have a brand new iPad pro and I tried to upload a couple videos of fireworks last night but only one would start and it says "Connection is taking longer than normal to upload" so I figured it would finnish after I went to bed, woke up today and nope! Thought that it said the one finished a bit ago but that doesn't seem to be the case, when I restart it it says about 50% complete, every time. The second video still won't even begin to upload, acts like it glitches out after clicking share on FB.

Ive had many other issues in the few days I've had this. The biggest probably being that after I transferred a folder with drone videos and pictures many apps are unable to locate and recognize said folder, which makes it really difficult to review my work before opening with Lumafusion!

Also why does IOS not have a back button??? Something so simple and useful but Apple doesn't give you one??!!

This is supposed to be an extremely powerful device but it feels extremely crippled by IOS!

Thinking about sending it back and getting an Android device or upgrade my PC, might be slower but at least they work like you would expect...

Uploading to FB.

I used the files app to to copy half of the folder contents, I then copied them into a folder that I created on the iPad. And yes I can access the fold and the contents.

Some apps you’ll end up in a position where there is no back arrow and no way to exit without closing the app, are you telling me there’s a way to go back without closing the app? Again, a back button is so much easier and intuitive!

Yes I researched it a bit and pretty much every YOUTUBE video said that IOS file management system was atrocious but I decided to give Apple the benefit of the doubt. I thought that the speed of this thing would save me a lot of time with workflow but I spent all night last night trying to get this to work the way that it should and I accomplished next to nothing.. None of these problems are existent on my Galaxy S9+, not saying Android is perfect but it does tend to work like a person would expect.

I get that there's a learning curve but it seems to be more than just that, it seems like Apple intentionally makes things more difficult just to be different from everyone else. I also understand that Apple doesn't own FB but EVERYONE in the world uses FB and having it work properly with IOS would be a top concern if Apple was a company that I owned or ran. Because the fact is I've never had this kind of issue with Android or Windows, I can easily access any picture or video folder on my phone and upload them to FB without any issues. Why wouldn't Apple strive for that? Why wouldn't they want to bring in new customers from other platforms? And the fact that you're not really giving me any troubleshooting info suggests to me that Apple knows of these issues but is unwilling to work towards fixing them for whatever reason. This ipad pro is incredibly fast and responsive but Apple seems to have crippled it with a clunky unintuitive operating system that for all intensive purposes is broken.. 😐

Let me ask you a few questions.

  1. Where were you trying to upload these videos to?
  2. How did you transfer a folder of pictures? Did you transfer to the Files app, where did they come from?

It is possible that many of the apps you are using do not have access to the files app to open anything, if that is where you transferred this folder. Are you able to find the folder at all?

iOS devices have not had a back button. To go back to somewhere, you can swipe closed the app you are currently in and open your last app. Not judging you if you wish to go to or back to Android, but I'm wondering if you researched the iPad before making your purchase. Were you aware of how it worked?

Whether Facebook has access to the Files app depends on how it was designed. I would suggest that you check with them about access to the Files app in iOS. As far as a back button, iOS has never had one as I said. And my explanation was to close the app. Uploading of large video files would depend on a number of things, wi-fi speed, the fact that if the iPad is not connected to power and pause or stoppage of the upload could result in the disconnect of the wi-fi as well. It would seem you are very used to the Android system and are expecting things to work the same way in iOS. I would say I would be equally as lost if I had to do something in Android, as I've always used iOS. I don't deal with Facebook, and after spending a great deal of time here, I find nothing but complaints from people trying to use their platform, let alone dealing with their security issues. I'm sorry that the iPad is not working the way you would like, but without having a device in hand, it is hard to troubleshoot all issues. If you have the time and have an Apple Store nearby you, make a Genius Bar appointment and bring the device in for them to look at and work with you on. Good luck.
