Can iPhone now caption calls

Android can now caption calls but reads an announcement at the beginning. Can iOS now caption calls, does it give a similar announcement first?

I'm deaf, and when I call in Android, I get hung up on a lot while the announcement is read, do now thinking of switching if iPhone does better.

So this isn't actually a live caption service on iphone? I wish Apple understood that just because you are deaf/HH doesn't mean that you are mute. I lost my hearing, but it happened later in life so I can talk perfectly fine. Need live caption calls like Google Pixel phones have been doing for years! I would love to come back to Apple. However, that likely won't happen if they can't catch up with Google in regards to accessibility. :(

Microphone speech recognition sensitivity in texts When I put down my phone after looking at a text the microphone is easily activated. How do I turn that off. I only want the microphone speech recognition if I press it or ask it to.
