Can I see past messages in icloud

In the "Here's how it works" section, it provides you with more information on what devices you're able to see your messages in iCloud with and states that you cannot view messages from a web browser. Since iCloud updates automatically, you will only be able to see past text messages if you have them saved currently on one of your devices.
