Help with mini HomePod to xr iPhone

My mini HomePod doesn’t show when I hold my phone over HomePod to choose for connections. It is playing my music. I would like to use the Home app to control.

You can AirPlay from your phone to HomePod using the Music App

Use AirPlay to stream audio - Apple Support

Once it’s playing on the HomePod you will also be able to use the home app to control it if you wish by long pressing on the HomePod icon in the Home App
