About Apple Card monthly payments

I am trying to get the new iPhone 12 and I wanted to pay for it with the monthly installments using the Apple Card feature and I was wondering if I had to have Apple Pay in order to pay the monthly installments because Apple Pay doesn’t support my Rapid!Access debit card.

Yes, you need Apple Pay, however, the Apple Card is a credit card on its own, it does not depend on your debit card, and will let you set up Apple Pay with it. You don’t need an additional card in Apple pay for it, but you will need to setup a bank account to make payments to the Apple card.

Apple Card Monthly Installments requires that you have an Apple Card. See: Apple Card - Monthly Installments - Apple

To apply for Apple Card, see: How to apply for Apple Card - Apple Support

If you apply for and are approved for the Apple Card, be very careful to insure that you choose the Monthly Installments option when buying your iPhone from Apple online or in an Apple Store.
