Apple Music Family Sharing

Warning: long question.

My mom has used Apple Music for years and a few years back she decided to get the Family Plan since my brother and I were interested in listening to music. I’ve had many struggles with it, such as not being able to sign in with my Apple ID instead of my mom’s ID even though she bought the Family Plan and sent me an invite. Luckily I figured that out. One thing I can’t figure out and annoys me is the fact that my mom’s library shows up in mine. My brother has a fully separate library with only his saved music and artist’s, and none of my mom’s playlist’s show up in my library along with mine. However, all of her downloaded songs and artist’s are shown in my library when I never added them. My brother doesn’t have them, and my mom doesn’t have mine, just me. Does anyone else experience this? Has anyone found a solution to get rid of her music from my library without it deleting from her’s?

Hey there ZanderFerguson,

Based on your post it sounds like you have Apple Music content from your mother's Apple Music library showing up in your library. Is that right?

If so, you'll want to make sure that you and your mother are not sharing Apple IDs. Once you confirm that you're using separate Apple IDs for Apple Music, you can then manage your Apple Music library without impacting your mother's library.

Sign in with your Apple ID

Delete music, movies, and TV shows from your device

Warm regards.
