Hello Bob Burlison.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're experiencing issues when using a third-party webcam with your Mac. Specifically, your audio has an echo. We can understand how this would be an issue. Allow us to investigate this issue and assist in any way we can.
We want to make sure we isolate this issue further with you. If you use your built-in camera on your Mac, does this echo issue occur while using it or can you confirm this issue is only occurring while using your third-party webcam?
You might also want to adjust your System Preferences audio to make sure the correct audio channels are being used for Input and Output. You can do this by going to System Preferences > Sound. Just select Output, which should be the built-in speakers unless you're using headphones. For Input, make sure your webcam is selected.

Additionally, you might have to adjust the built-in preferences for your webcam as well. For that we recommend that you review your user manual.
Feel free to keep us updated. Best of luck.
