Apple MacBook M1 suddenly lost the battery charge and turned off

1-month-old M1 just turned off in the middle of a meeting.

It was plugged in, charged 100% as shown in the first picture.

Then I thought the worst...

Tried to turn it on, after the third, it said the battery is exhausted, the empty battery icon on the screen.

Plugged everything out, then back, and it started charging and was able to boot.

What has just happened? See the images. Out blue, chart collapse and off.

and after 2 hrs:

Clearly visible that the MacBook was on a power adapter.

Any thought, idea?

Thanks

When you Startup in Safe Mode font caches are removed.

That is not related to Battery problem.

If there is a macOS related issue, startup in Safe Mode may rectify.

Startup in Safe Mode involves restart.

Resetting SMC is a standard hardware related troubleshooting step.

1. Update the software on your Mac,

Update may come with bug fixes.

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201541

2. Startup in Safe mode. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201262 Choose the appropriate method.

To leave Safe Mode, choose “Restart” at the bottom.

    Quote:

Safe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software when it starts up, including login items,

system extensions not required by macOS,

and fonts not installed by macOS. It  also does a basic check of your startup disk,

similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility

And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache,

which will be created again automatically as needed.

3. Contact Apple.

If steps posted above do not help,
