Random files

There are random files in my files app that when deleted re appear with different numbers. Anyone know what these are or if there harmful.

Random unknown files keep reappearing Hello! I've had this problem for a long time, but have yet to figure out why it keeps happening. I'm pretty sure it was from some program or something I've downloaded in the past (I've downloaded a lot of things in the past couple years), but I can't figure out what, where, why. These files keep appearing under my "Downloads" folder. It'll be a whole slew of them with jibberish names. I'll delete them, and then they reappear within a day or so. They're all ".file" files. many random files called "Icon?" Recently, a large number of files (nearly 500 of them) from a few KB up to several megabytes have appeared all over my many external and internal drives. They all use either the icon of a very old app which hasn't worked since high sierra or the word "exec" in green on a dark gray rectangle, and the name attached to these files is simply "Icon?". Can these be safely discarded?

Is there any malware? My question is are any of these files suspicious or malware?

The key information you show above is the “.json” suffix. This indicates a JavaScript Object Notation file, used to communicate between some web application and a server. Hopefully that will help you track down the web application involved. It’s likely quite aged.
