What cable is needed to connect an older Apple Monitor A1267 to a macBook Pro (13 inch, 2016, Four Thunderbold 3 Ports)

Hi - Can you be more specific? I have a 2008 A1267 with what looks like a thunderbolt cable, but may be a DisplayPort cable bc it has the icon on it, a USB cable, and the magnetic thingamajig for laptops. I have a thunderbolt to USBC adapter, but that doesn't work. I have looked at several DisplayPort to USBC adapters, but from the photos, they don't look like they will work. It's hard to tell from online photos.

Upon further research - I believe it is a Mini Display Port - which looks and fits exactly like a Thunderbolt, but isn't. ~sigh~.
