Exporting Thousands of Macbook Pro Notes Without "Exporting As PDF" One-By-One
Hi,
Is there a way to export/download Notes from my Macbook Pro (Retina, Early 2015, macOS Sierra) outside of iCloud without having to "Export As PDF" each note one-by-one? I'm UP TO HERE trying to figure this out. I have 4,000 Notes that I would like to remove from laptop and save. I've also looked in App Store, totally willing to pay, and not seeing anything there. I'd like to be able to remove the notes in a format that allows me to access/share them regardless of whether I'm using Mac or Windows/Android - which PDF allows, but only if I export each note as a PDF one-by-one. I didn't realize this would be an issue, but I've sort of used Notes the way I would Microsoft Word, not realizing that when the moment arrived when I needed/wanted to remove them, it'd be this difficult. And some of these Notes are LONG. Regardless of whatever the solution ends up being, this has been beyond difficult, and I don't plan on using Notes ever again in my life, so I am also open to recommendations on a substitute to Notes that automatically saves the notes into, say .docx/.txt/.pdf, etc from the beginning.
Thank you!
*No need to read beyond this, I type fast and didn't realize what a novel it'd become until I finished, so only read below if you'd like a bit background into my efforts.
They do not sync to iCloud (I've cleared caches, I've restarted, I've tried to drag things, I'm signed in, I've done other things based on some tips I've seen here and still - Laptop notes are not syncing BUT even if they did, if I still can only save each one as PDF one-by-one, then I'm in the same boat as I don't want to manually save 4,000 notes as PDFs). Right now, I'm also a bit afraid to try anything new in regards to trying to sync again anyways because for a few minutes when trying to reset things to try and get syncing started, ALL of the Notes "On My Mac" disappeared, only showing "iCloud Notes", of which there were none, until a few minutes later, my "On My Mac" Notes reappeared.
I have tried everything, I have read so much, which I guess makes me incompetent because I'm just not finding an easy solution here. I'm baffled as to the lack of options here (unless there is a solution I'm missing). Even the Notes themselves - do they have a format/extension? I can take 4,000 .docx files and convert to PDF in small batches through an online website, for example. I can't do that with Notes because outside of Notes, WHAT are they/what is their extension? Even in the ~Library...I can't find a way to drag/save/download these notes and make sense of them outside of the Notes app. So.
If anyone has made it through this mini-novel, and is able to help me, if your plan is to try and help me with syncing, please don't waste your time on me (I say this 100% genuinely). I've tried to do figure this out through iCloud and I don't want to risk those notes disappearing again (they're backed up into Time Machine, but still - it'd just be going around in circles again since I want them OFF the laptop and to use them the way I would a Word document). But, if anyone is able to help and point me to an App or some trick I've totally missed, I would be beyond grateful. If not, I'll probably open up a Word document and just copy the Notes into it - I think even that is faster than exporting each note as a PDF.
Thank you!
