Why does my iMac go 27” (Big Sur 11.4) log me out every time I put it to sleep?

It may not be logging you out, but probably just requiring a password.

You can change how long after sleep a password is required to get back in by going to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General.

At the top of the General window, uncheck "Require password..." OR select a delay time before requiring a password after sleep or screen saver.
