Issues with contacts

Hello, recently I upgraded to an iPhone 12 Pro. When I transferred all my stuff from my previous phone all my contacts and everything went over just fine and now I’m having issues were the numbers that I save under contacts when they text me they don’t show the name but rather a phone number. Now with this a number can sometimes be saved with a +1(xxx) xxx-xxxx. Some of them if they’re saved this way Will show up when texted as if they don’t have the plus one in front of them. Also if the plus one is saved with the contact in my contacts and they have an iPhone it allows me to FaceTime and iMessage them or if it is not saved that way it does not allow me to. Also there’s a glitch in my messages where if I am in a group chat if someone responds to the chat it shows me and that person plus me again. I don’t know how that happens. Please help

Hi mrkusfromtulsa,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand your contacts are showing in Messages as a phone number instead of a name, and we'd like to help. Does the issue persist if you toggle iCloud Contacts off and back on again? Also, if you go to  Settings > General > Language & Region, is that set correctly?

We look forward to learning more about the issue.

Take care.
