FaceTime and iMessage

Just had this issue after switching carriers and getting switching to latest iPhone. Was over my 24hrs that it takes for iMessage to update with my phone number. Called apple support and they said it could take 48 hours. Looked online and found this. Did it and it fixed it immediately. Hope this helps
