iCloud forgotten password

I lost my iPhone 2 years ago and my prior iCloud account could not be recovered because of the double-authentication security. At that time, I only had an iPhone and no other Apple products. Do you think I can still recover that iCloud account? I currently used my Gmail account as my Apple ID. Thank you!
