FaceTime screentime limits not working

Why can my child use FaceTime for more than an hour and screentime only logs 6 seconds towards their daily app limit?

I can try that. but just to clarify, the issue is not that it's "not blocking", the issue is that it's "not tracking" the time while facetime is being used (that may not change your next-steps recommendation).

While Facetime is being used the screentime is showing that the phone is in use (grey area on the screenshot provided previously), but the actual app time was only showing 6 seconds used, instead of about 1 hour.

Hello Ca77p,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities about Screen Time.

How is this set up? Please check if it's an App Limit, Downtime, or Communication Limit: Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch HT208982

Also, make sure you are aware, FaceTime falls under Social Networking, so if you are using App Limits and limiting games, it's not considered a game and won't follow that setting: FaceTime Apple - Apple

"Category Social Networking"

Thanks.

Hi. It’s set up as part of the app limits. All social networking apps are selected in the limit setup. Tiktok and Instagram all log the time being used but FaceTime does not log the time being used.

communication limits have been set for downtime to only family. And downtime limits properly shut down FaceTime. It’s just that FaceTime does not get logged in the time usage when it’s being used during the day.

thanks
