If you want to change the user account name, then first make sure to have a good backup of the computer before you attempt to change the user account user name as many people make a mistake causing them to lose access to their data.

You should always have frequent and regular backups.

DON"T attempt to CHANGE an Account name. Too many user who try this end up completely locked out of their Mac.

Instead, create a new Admin account with a name to your liking, log in with the new name and eventually (once you are certain you do not need its old files) you can delete the old one.

Change the computer's name from the Sharing pane of System Preferences, or account names from the Users & Groups pane.
