I recently purchased an iPhone XR I backed up my phone when the new phone was finished setting up some of my text messages were missing. How to I or can I get them back

Wondering if you had made a back up to an external Hard Drive ?
If so, you could recover them from there.
Else, if your old phone had saved the texts to iCloud::
And if they were then deleted from your old phone within 30 days ago:
