MacBook not starting correctly
I start up my Mac but it will not go beyond the apple icon

Restart and immediately hold the Shift key until the Apple Logo is presented and then release. This is Are Mode and will do a repair disk, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. So, it loads slowly - normal.
