I have been using one of the letterhead temple that came in the Template Chooser. It has a heading and then the body of the text further down. That is perfect for the first page.

Having text start that far down on the second page just looks ridiculous. I have seen responses to the question of how to change left and right margins for a second page, but I need to change the top margin. I could use some help.

Thanks.

Hi Allan,

My apologies. I was called away, and posted without confirming that the screen shot had been included. Here it is.

I've repeated the placeholder text to push the signature onto the second page, and selected the text box holdng the address and phone information to show why, like the photograph, it doesn't repeat on the page(s) added to the letter.

Regards,

Barry

PS: Urna's photo looks odd as it was affected by the reduction of the page image to 75% from the usual 125% default setting. Makes it small enough to contain more than a page in the screen shot, but does nothing to enhance Urna's appearance!

Hi Allan,

Here's a screenshot of the front page of a letter using the Photo Letter template, and showing the document margin and header/footer settings. Show layout has been selected to show the 'boundary lines on that page.

Notice that there are no entries in the header or footer boxes. Anything placed in these boxes s treated and a 'running header' and displayed on every page of the document.

Top margin for this page is controlled by the height of the picture frame container holding the photo. If your letterhead logo is mostly text, that frame could be replaced with a text box, set to Stay on Page, and to wrap (text) Above and Below.

The picture frame or text box are not in a header box, and are not placed in the Section Master, so they will not repeat on succeeding pages added to this document.

This template produces a word processing document, so, as body text is added, Pages will generate new pages to accommodate that text as needed.

Your template may be similar, and can likely be set to exhibit the same behaviour.

Regards,

Barry

It works! Thanks Barry.

For my part, I have stated "see attached" in emails and failed to attach anything. And I've done that more than two or three times. Sometimes I realize my oversight just after hitting "send". Other times, the recipient has to contact me to say that they did not receive it. And this has happened even when I was not in any particular hurry. So no worries.

As for Urna, I can see enough of her to know that she looks fine. Again, thanks.
