Upgrading Macbook with SSD and 4GB RAM

Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook5,2
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz

This is currently what I have. I want to install a SSD greater than the current 120GB and $ GB of RAM but am unsure if my computer will take it or reject it. I've been building PCs but haven't done a mac. Does it make any difference. I have stumbled upon some topics of crashes.
Also, dont recall having a installation disc come with the laptop. Any ideas on a fresh boot but transfer my music and other data? I dont want the entire thing transferred. only a few programs and files.

You can run up to 6G of RAM on this model (1X2 + 1X4), and places like macsales.com will sell you the appropriate kit. You can also install any SSD that will fit.

This model shipped originally with OS X 10.5 (Leopard), and those discs should have been in the box. But your profile says you're running OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), so you must have upgraded at some point, and you should have your SL install disc to format and install the OS on your new drive.

Yes, you can use the retail Snow Leopard to do a fresh install on a new drive.

Alternatively, you can buy an enclosure for your SSD, hook it up via USB (or FIreWire if your MacBook has it) and use SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your current machine to the SSD. Then install the new drive, and it will be just like your current one, no need to use the discs at all.

Upgrading to a SSD will make an unbelievable difference in performance over a mechanical Hard Drive especially if you upgrade the memory also.

I upgraded the original 250GB 5400RPM and 2GB of memory in my MacBook 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo: (13-inch, Late 2009) – Model A1342 Polycarbonate Unibody ( MC207LL/A ) to a Kingston SSDNow V Series 128 GB SATA 3 GB/s 2.5- Inch Solid State Drive SNV425-S2/128GB Cache – 64MB and 4GB of Patriot Signature PSD34G1066SK (2x2GB) 4GB DDR3 CL7 PC3-8500 1066MHz a few months ago.

Now my MacBook boots up and shuts down three times faster and All my applications launch three times faster. No crashes or hangups since the upgrades, I've been very pleased with the results I've been experiencing so far.

I'm looking at RAM at the moment and crucial is suggesting 200 pin DDR2 PC-5300.

Found that page and what gets me is that the MHz is higher than 667 MHz ... that means it's better and faster, right? I'm also assuming it will eat more battery though.
I'm also thinking about this hard drive: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=62801 78&CatId=2682

Opinions? Thanks!
