Do you ever see an Apple logo, or progress bar, or login screen or is the screen immediately the plain white screen immediately after powering on?
Were there any other symptoms leading up to this?
If you Option Boot the Mac do you see the Apple boot picker menu?
You can try an SMC Reset and PRAM Reset (hold the PRAM Reset for three chimes if possible).
