Can calendar entries on iPhone be automatically synched with MacBook Pro?

I have tried doing that, but I must have done something wrong. The calendar entry I made to the phone today does not show up on my Mac calendar. I only use one calendar, so no confusion. I moved everything to "fetch", as well. Thanks for the reply.
