Messages app opening wrong thread

When I receive an SMS from my bank and I tap on the notification, then Messages app opens, but not in the thread that contains the new message, but in some other.

It even happens, if in navigate to the correct new message, got to home screen and then tap on Messages. It opens in the wrong thread (the same one as before).

The wrong thread seems to have the same sender than the correct one (the messages are sent from the bank with no phone number, just the name of the bank, the name is same in both threads)

The "wrong" thread contains just one message, from several years ago).

It seems Messages can not properly tell one thread from another.

Any idea how to resolve this? Report bug?
