USB Type C connector on laptop doesn't recognize my iPhone 11 pro -Windows 10 pro

I just bought a laptop with a type c usb port and my iTunes doesn't recognize my phone. The laptop charges my phone but that's all. When I plug my airpod pro case it in recognizes the case on the laptop

(notification pops up in the bottom right hand corner)
