Can I delete the photos in my iPhone after I did the backup?

If i upgrade my storage , and i back up my phone and all my pictures , can I delete the pictures that are on my phone storage?

If you sync with iCloud and delete pictures, those will delete from the cloud and from all devices. If you export all of your pictures to an external drive for storage, you could then delete the ones on your phone.


If space is an issue, and you use iCloud photos, try changing the setting to optimize storage. Got to Settings > Photos and select optimize storage. Your originals will still be kept in iCloud.
