Apple Card physical replacement

In the event that I have to replace my physical Apple Card, does the Apple Card in my iPhone Wallet remain active while I wait for the replacement?

iPhone 11, iOS 14

Based on the information I could find it is implied that the physical card is separate from the card in your iPhone wallet. So, you should be able to continue to use wallet if you lock your physical card. However, you may want to verify this with Apple Card. It's easy to message customer service. In your device wallet, select your Apple Card. The select the three dots for card information. This is where you can lock, unlock, share, etc. From that same screen you can call or message support.
