When I make a call or receive a call via the watch, I do not hear anything from the caller as if there is no call, even though the volume is high.

Is it the same with the airpods? Turning the crown during the call makes no difference either?
If so, I would go ahead and unpair and re-pair. That will restore factory settings, while keeping your apps and data intact.

Are you using head phones as well? If you click on the three dots bottom right, which audio devices do you see? If there are multiple, does it help if you switch to another device?
Is it the same issue with Voicemail?
