Here is the link to some great Impulse Responses to be used in Space Designer or your favourite Convolution Engine. SD can read the 32 Bit files so grab those. It's Donationware...

I purchased the L300 from www.acousticas.net and got an email on 5/19/2009 that they were releasing a free Bricasti M7 Impluse Response Library.

    http://www.acousticas.net/World/IRs/AcousticasM7.zip

It seems they created this library before asking permission from Bricasti to do so.
Bricasti said as long as the library was free or donation ware they did not mind.

Casey from Bricasti is aware of this new and very accurate library and is actually endorsing it, as it brings more awareness to their great hardware. He participates actively in a number of discussions on IR applications, on forums like GearSlutz, V.I. Control and KVR.

    Cheers!

I have question that has boggled me for a while now . Where do you install these impulse response files so that you can use them with the space designer ? Do they show up in the menu bar ?

Just put them into *Library/Audio/Impulse Responses* or in *Users/"you"/Library/Audio/Impulse Responses* . Then open Logic, load a Space Designer and they should be accesible from it.

For the AcousticasM7 IRs, someone already created the presets for Space Designer.

Check out this link and download from there

While there have been a few free IR packages of the bricasti, it looks like the new ones from Samplicity are much cleaner, much less noise than the earlier ones. The new ones also have true stereo versions which I don't believe the earlier ones did.

    Thanks!
It's great to read on so many forums that people really appreciate them and the work that went into making them.

    Hi,

I have the AcousticasM7 IRs and think I they sound pretty good.

Just wondering if these would be the same/better quality, different presets, etc?

    Thanks,

    delton

The M7 IRs from Acousticas fade into a noise level of around -45 dB. The Samplicity ones have been created with 1 minute sine sweeps and very delicate post-processing, including noise reduction with the best software. Their SNRs are in the range of -90 dB to -110 dB. The frequency spectra are also very much closer to the real thing.

    Cheers,

Thanks for such detailed information Peter!

I will download them sometime this week.

For all of you who are interested in really high quality Impulse Responses, I have lowered the price for my three commercial libraries with 30% during October. The libraries with the Lex960, TCE6000 and a selection from these are now priced at Euro 45 instead of Euro 65.

    Check out http://www.samplicity.com

    Happy mixing!

Can anyone help with getting the Samplicity IRs to work properly with Space Designer?

It seems there are seperate files for the L and R channel plus a M to S file...should I just be using the M to S file within Space Designer?...Am I right thinking that any stereo signal that Space Designer receives is summed to mono anyway before being processed?

    Cheers

No. From the description in the Instrument & Effects guide:

Space Designer can operate as mono, stereo, *true stereo (meaning each channel is processed discretely),* or surround effect.

    Cool.

So that being the case, how should one go about making the Samplicity IRs work in true stereo with the Space Designer?

    Cheers
