Samplicity-Bricasti-M7 IRs for Convolution Reverbs - check it out

Here is the link to some great Impulse Responses to be used in Space Designer or your favourite Convolution Engine. SD can read the 32 Bit files so grab those. It's Donationware...

I purchased the L300 from www.acousticas.net and got an email on 5/19/2009 that they were releasing a free Bricasti M7 Impluse Response Library.

http://www.acousticas.net/World/IRs/AcousticasM7.zip

It seems they created this library before asking permission from Bricasti to do so.
Bricasti said as long as the library was free or donation ware they did not mind.

The M7 IRs from Acousticas fade into a noise level of around -45 dB. The Samplicity ones have been created with 1 minute sine sweeps and very delicate post-processing, including noise reduction with the best software. Their SNRs are in the range of -90 dB to -110 dB. The frequency spectra are also very much closer to the real thing.

Cheers,

Peter from Samplicity

Can anyone help with getting the Samplicity IRs to work properly with Space Designer?

It seems there are seperate files for the L and R channel plus a M to S file...should I just be using the M to S file within Space Designer?...Am I right thinking that any stereo signal that Space Designer receives is summed to mono anyway before being processed?

Cheers

No. From the description in the Instrument & Effects guide:

Space Designer can operate as mono, stereo, *true stereo (meaning each channel is processed discretely),* or surround effect.

Sorry to everyone who seems to have this installed and working well....

I've downloaded the sound designer presets (thank you), put them into the plug in settings folder, and put the wavs into the impulse responses folder, but SD still wants me to search for the relevant wavs. Do I need to take them all out of their folders? And what to do about the 44.1 vs 48k files that have the same name?
