how to make screenshot in JPG format vs. html

hello, and thanks for any help you can offer,

Until updating to OS BIg Sur, the default format for screen shots on my MacBook Pro was .jpg. Since then, it's been html. which is useless when I want to send someone a screen shot.

How can I change it back to.jpg please?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.12

Open the Desktop folder and select a screenshot.

Get Info (cmd-I).
