In trying to register my appletv i get a verification code. Where and how do i enter that code?

Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

On Apple TV (4th generation or later) [A1625/A1842/A2169] you would be asked for that separately.

On Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) [A1378/A1427/A1469] TFA wasn’t implemented yet, so as a workaround, you would need to enter the password+verification code together in the password field. discussions.apple.com/thread/251787405
