iPhone Message: "Motion Camera needs to be Updated" - How and Why?

Ref: iPhone asks for update on "Motion Camera"

Hi!

I have an iPhone 12 Pro and another older iPhone.

My software is up-to date, current 14.6 (as of July 2021)

For a few weeks now, I have been receiving on both of my phones the automated system push-message:

"Motion camera needs to be updated".

I would - but nothing happens!

It only gives me the 2 options "keep" or "delete" - I tried both. But they lead to noweher.

Plus re-set regular camera app.

Still receiving the same random message.

Here my questions: What is "Motion Camera"? How to update? What need to be done?

Thank you, everybody, in advance, who knows about this and can share the necessary steps!

Hi Zubsy,

Thanks for reaching out using Apple Support Communities. Here to help.

We understand you are getting a notification that states "Motion Camera needs to be updated."

Is there a certain action that triggers this alert, or does it seem to come up randomly?

This does not sound like terminology used by the built-in camera app or anywhere else in the system. Do you have an application installed that uses this or a similar name? The nature of the alert described, 'App Name' needs to be updated, Keep or Delete', does appear to be referring to an installed application that is no longer supported. Are you able to locate the app in Settings > General > iPhone Storage to delete it this way?

Let us know if this is helpful or if we can try to support this further! Take care for now.
