Macbook Air cannot see my printer

I have Macbook Air (2015) with OS Big Sur installed on it (ver 11.4). After the last upgrade of the system, the laptop cannot see my printer Xerox Workstation 3045. The Xerox company informed me that the last driver for that model was issued for Mac Os 10.5. I don't have a possibility to buy a new printer. How could I connect the device to the laptop?

At least according to the following support page, drivers for up to macOS Catalina 10.15 are available.

64-bit. Worth testing with Big Sur?

Hi,

This does not appear to be an AirPrint-enabled printer. It seems to be a host-based USB-only model, which makes it difficult to find drivers. The printer is mentioned in an Open Printing https://www.openprinting.org/driver/foo2hbpl2 web page for Linux, together with a number of other models. I do not know whether Mac drivers are available for any of these printers.

You may want to reset the printing system and re-add the printer to begin with.

Check whether the operating system suggests a driver. If not, one should perhaps not rule out the possibility that that a driver for a similar model could be used. However, that would be experimental. Software conflicts must be expected with any experiment, so make sure that you have multiple backup copies of important files (documents, photos, et cetera) before doing anything.

Apparently, there were different configurations available for the WorkCentre 3045. One (B) with USB only. Another (NI) with USB, Ethernet, and wireless.

Also, you may want to check whether Printing From a USB Flash Drive (https://download.support.xerox.com/pub/docs/WC3045/userdocs/any-os/en_GB/user_guide_en.pdf page 91) could be used as a workaround. If so, you could save files, for example, as PDF on the Mac, copy them to a USB flash drive, and print from that drive on the 3045.

If nothing else works, you could perhaps carry out tests with a Linux print server (maybe an old PC running Ubuntu, or a Raspberry Pi). CUPS is used with Linux. Ubuntu is compatible with Bonjour/mDNS via Avahi.
