iPhone 5S Not Holding a Charge

I have an iPhone 5S that holds a charge as it should for about a week after updating the software.  After that, it loses power very quickly, even with a new battery.  Please advise (please don’t suggest that I get a new phone. I know that's an option).

So what would you like someone here to do for you? If you have replaced the battery multiple times and still have a problem either you have software that is going rogue or you have a hardware failure in the power management IC. You can check the former by going to Settings > Battery and see what process/app is using up your battery. You can also test this by setting up your iPhone as a new device, don't load any other apps, and use it that way for about 72 hours. If there is no power drain you will have to look for the offending app. On the other hand if you still have the power drain issue it is going to be hardware.

Hello cirrintc,

Thanks for reaching out to us in Apple Support Communities about you battery not lasting as long as you belive it should, we're happy to help by looking into this more!

Typically how long does your battery last? Also, you mentioned that the battery is new, was this replaced by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider? The following support article provides some steps to help maximize battery life:

Hope this helps.

The battery was replaced by Apple. Each time I update the software, it holds a charge throughout the night at 100% (7-8 hrs.). After about a week, if I don't keep it plugged in overnight, it will lose about 70% of it's power. At other times, such as throughout the day when I am using the phone, I keep it plugged in as much as possible to maintain a charge. I have had the battery changed twice with the same result. My usage pattern and settings have not changed significantly either before or after this started happening. I have also read information about battery life and power on line. Please help. Thank you.
