Apple offers

Apple offers cannot be applied retrospectively.

If you have purchased directly from Apple, you have a 14-day unconditional returns period within which to return an unwanted device for exchange or refund.

If you qualify for the free Airpods via an Apple recognised educational programme, in your country, you might consider returning your new iPad for refund - and then order a repacement device through the appropriate programme.

Whatever special item offers that Apple issues for present new Apple device purchase are NOT retroactive to any previous device purchases from users.

If this iPad purchase is very recent and within the last 14 days, you could make an appointment to bring this iPad back to an actually Apple store and ask if they would honour the free AirPods promotion for that iPad Pro.

If they say no, you could return the iPad Pro, ask for a full unconditional refund, then repurchased another new iPad Pro to satisfy Apple's requirements ( the new iPad Pro will have a different serial number that would be tied to this offer ).
