what am doing wrong, ipad is extremely slow to view files (pics) on kingston usb 3.0 through dongle

Perhaps you can provide some insight as to the “dongle” with which you are attempting to connect your Kingston storage device to your iPad.
Unless all devices and cables in the connection chain support USB3, you will not achieve the highest data transfer speeds that your iPad can otherwise support.
