Unable to activate apple ID for podcast upload

Hi, I'm trying to upload a podcast show to apple podcasts, I created apple ID, set up a payment method and billing, and yet when I log in to https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/ I receive this message:

Activate your Apple ID

You need to finish activating your Apple ID before you can use it on Apple Podcasts Connect. For more information, check our support article on creating an Apple Podcasts Connect account. Learn More

I did everything in the "Learn more" link but still cant get inside the podcasts section.

When I try to use the "contact us" or "support" functions I'm redirected to the same page to activate my apple ID.

Having done what you describe you still need to aurthorise your computer to play iTunes/Apple Music purchases: menu 'Store' or 'Account' > 'Authorisations'>'Authorise this computer'.
