Can't sign in to Xcode

I looked it up and what I found out was that it uses your Apple ID password to sign in to Xcode. Well, I typed in my password and the box jiggles showing that it was the wrong password. My password has not changed and I haven't changed it. Why can't I sign in to Xcode? Do I have to make a separate account or something?
