I downloaded a song and I can't use it as a ringtone

Downloaded a song to use as a ringtone but it doesn't show up as an option when I want to assign it to a contact.

Ringtone just purchased wont download to my phone! New ringtone just purchased doesn't show up in my list of ringtones! I assigned it to a contact but not there. I went into Sounds& Haptics and it shows up in Download as "pending". First one I bought went to contact right away and does show in the list on my phone. Help

Songs aren't ringtones. You should have bought it as a ringtone, if it was available as a ringtone.

That's because you can't use songs as ringtones.
