You may be able to revert to the operating system installed prior to Big Sur, but not from Big Sur 11.5 to 11.4 — unless you took a Time Machine backup from 11.4 before the software update, and never allowed Time Machine to write 11.5 to it.
What specific issue have you encountered with 11.5 that makes you want to remove it?
Hi. I have just updated to 11.5 and all desktop icons have disappeared, leaving only the MacHD icon. My Desktop folder was empty! I tried rebooting a couple of times to no avail. Finally, I restored my Desktop folder from the last Time Capsule backup prior to the update. It is still downloading so I don’t know if it will be successful. Then I must check my Documents folder. What is going on here, Apple? An update shouldn’t potentially trash a user’s machine: this is really poor work by your update department. i just hope restoring from Time Capsule any files lost will sort the problem.
Or a Cloned copy of Big Sur 11.4 when it was installed hanging around.
HP ENVY printer not working after installing Mac OS 11.5.2
