MacBook Pro model #A1706 need to know how to remove the hard drive/ssd. Mine is completely smashed and need to locate the hard drive to see if I can get it backed up

Model number is the least likely way to identify your exact Mac.





The 2016/2017 has a proprietary NVMe SSD driver and an Apple designed controller.


There is a non-retina late 2016 with a standard 2.5" drive


If anybody besides Apple that can help it would be Owc/MacSales check with them: https://eshop.macsales.com
