MLB TV app on Apple TV won't play a game in progress

My MLB app only lets me start a game from the beginning, even though the link says 'play live', and references the correct inning. I've tried updating the Apple TV OS, doing a hard reset. Is this a known problem with this 4th gen Apple TV?

No, it is probably how the app is made by MLB, unrelated to your model device. Please consult with MLB about app feature availability.


Verify that your Apple TV system software is up-to-date, and that apps update automatically.

- Set up automatic updates or installation - Apple TV user guide - Apple Support


You may try this for any misbehaving app:

- Force-quit the app, then relaunch and try again.

- If the issue persists, force-quit the app, restart the device, then relaunch and try again.
