iPhone cuts off calls when ringing only when connected to Apple Watch

Hi

I am having issues with my phone and watch when receiving calls. I have an iPhone 8 and Apple Watch 3. I never used to have issues but recently when my phone rings I try to answer it either by sliding the bar or pressing answer but as I do it cuts out. To the caller it is like I have hung up on them. It only happens when I am wearing the watch. I have tried factory resetting the watch and re linking it but this hasn’t worked. Is there anything else I can do to stop this?

both watch and phone are up to date. I have tried restarting my phone on several occasions. To answer your questions

it happens both when the phone is locked and unlocked.

it is mainly at home but with everything going on at the moment I don’t tend to do out much. It never used to happen just in the last 2/3 months.

the only other Bluetooth device that would be on is connected to my laptop.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it’s not when I am trying to answer a call on my watch. The issue happens only when I wear the watch and try to answer on my phone but just cuts the caller off even when trying to answer. It is generally within 1 or 2 rings. Without the watch on, all phone calls are fine.

Thanks for the response. Since this happens when you try to answer on your iPhone while wearing your Apple Watch, please Restart your iPhone.

Then, make sure your iOS is up-to-date: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the issue continues, consider answering the following questions.

When this happens, is your iPhone locked or unlocked?
Does this happen in multiple locations?
Does this happen while using other Bluetooth devices?
